Rescue Boat Fall Preventor - Lifeboat Fall Prevention Device (FPD) Spectra-Siri Rope, with 2 Shackles - Fall Prevention Device for Lifeboats
The Lifeboat Fall Prevention Device (FPD) with Spectra-Siri rope and two shackles provides an added safety measure during lifeboat maintenance and recovery. Suitable for most lifeboats, it helps prevent accidental release caused by on-load hook failure.
Rescue Boat Fall Preventer – Lifeboat Fall Prevention Device (FPD) UHMWPE Rope with 2 Shackles – Secondary Securing Device for Lifeboats
The Lifeboat Fall Prevention Device (FPD) with Spectra-Siri rope and two shackles is used to prevent serious accidents caused by the failure or malfunction of on-load release hooks. It is suitable for most lifeboat types and provides an added safety connection during lifeboat maintenance, recovery, and testing.
The FPD is made from high-strength Spectra-Siri UHMWPE rope and is designed to withstand loads of almost 40 tonnes. It is fitted to the lifeboat fall blocks while the lifeboat is being recovered or worked on and is removed before the lifeboat is released. If the hook system fails, the FPD helps prevent an uncontrolled drop.
The use of Fall Prevention Devices is strongly recommended during all lifeboat maintenance and inspection work. It helps reduce the risk of accidental release and gives crew greater confidence when operating lifeboats in both routine work and emergency situations. The device complies with MSC.1/Circ.1327 requirements.
