The T-ISS LineShooter PLS 300 Pneumatic Line Thrower is a heavy-duty, compressed-air-powered line throwing device designed to establish a physical connection between two points across water or difficult terrain. It provides a reliable alternative to traditional pyrotechnic line throwers, using compressed air rather than solid-fuel rockets to launch its projectile.
Developed in close cooperation with YB, the PLS 300 is an advanced professional line launcher designed for demanding rescue, marine and emergency applications where a line must be deployed over a significant distance.
The LineShooter can launch its projectile approximately 250 metres, making it suitable for situations requiring long-range line deployment. Its aerodynamic projectile design helps minimise the effects of wind, with crosswind being the primary wind factor affecting its trajectory. The projectile reaches its maximum velocity at the end of the launcher, providing effective range and consistent deployment.
The PLS 300 operates with a 65 bar shooting chamber pressure and achieves an average nozzle velocity of 50.6 m/s. The system uses a 300 bar, 2-litre compressed-air cylinder and provides a minimum of four shots per cylinder.
With a throwing unit weighing 8.0 kg and measuring 165 cm, plus a 1.7 kg, 120 cm projectile, the complete system weighs 10.4 kg and measures 175 cm in total.
