The Thanner DK84 is a serviceable Hydrostatic Release Unit designed for heavy-duty installations and long-term reliability. With no fixed lifespan, the DK84 can be reused indefinitely when serviced and tested regularly in line with your life raft servicing schedule.

Built for demanding marine environments, the unit is constructed from stainless steel AISI 316 and composite polyamide plastic. It operates independently of life raft buoyancy and features a manual release and reset function—allowing for routine testing and continued service. Certified to MED, SOLAS, Ships Wheel, USCG, and Transport Canada standards, it is approved for life rafts with a buoyancy load up to 1,850kg, removing the need for a pelicahook or similar manual release system in time-critical situations.

The DK84 is manufactured using non-toxic, fully recyclable materials, supporting environmental compliance.

Non-SOLAS variants, such as the DK84.1 FN and DK84 RN2, offer the same core characteristics as the DK84.1 but do not carry MED/SOLAS approval. These models are available with custom release depths, including options down to 50m water gauge, upon request.
