The Spencer Shell basket stretcher is designed for professional emergency rescue and patient transport in high-risk and complex environments. Manufactured by Spencer, a globally trusted leader in EMS and rescue equipment, it is built to support reliable performance in technical rescue, confined space operations, offshore environments, mountain rescue, water rescue and helicopter evacuation scenarios.

The integrated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) rigid shell forms a protective cocoon around the patient, helping guard against side impacts and improving safety during movement over rough terrain and during lifting operations. This makes it suitable for rescue situations where conventional transport equipment is not sufficient.

Equipped with strategically placed handholes and eyelets, the stretcher supports secure multi-operator handling and controlled lifting in demanding conditions. Four lifting points enable safe winch and helicopter evacuation when used with a Spencer sling system, maintaining a stable horizontal position during lifting. A perimeter rope system allows secure attachment of straps and accessories, while integrated base skids reduce friction for smoother dragging across uneven ground.

The shell stretcher is also compatible with standard spine boards for additional patient support and stabilisation. It is supplied with a waterproof mattress for improved comfort during extended transport and is designed for repeated use in harsh emergency environments.

Constructed from durable PE, PP and aluminium, the Spencer Shell delivers strength with controlled weight for rapid deployment. With a maximum load capacity of 280 kg and available in high-visibility orange, yellow and red, it provides a dependable solution for EMS, fire and rescue teams, SAR units and industrial responders operating in critical conditions.

Use of winch systems requires a compatible Spencer sling system to ensure safe horizontal lifting. The 'Shell' is designed exclusively for patient recovery and transport and is not intended for patient operation.
