The Markus Emergency Ladder SCN4 is a four-mesh (80 cm wide) emergency ladder designed for lifeboat embarkation and climbing directly from water. Vertical length is tailor-made to customer requirements, with models ranging from 150 cm to 1200 cm, covering maximum lifting heights from 50 cm up to 1100 cm above water.
Lightweight and compact, the SCN4 weighs between 3.3 kg and 9.2 kg depending on length, and supports between 1 and 4 persons for simultaneous climbing. It is suitable for manual lifting of one person at a time in a standing position by two deck crew, and is built to LSA/SOLAS standards with a total Safe Working Load of 890 kg.
Available models span lifting heights from 50 cm (SCN4-150) to 1100 cm (SCN4-1200), making the SCN4 suitable for a wide range of vessels including lifeboats, rescue craft, and workboats with low to moderate freeboard. All units are supplied with a knotted pull-in line, five buckle loops for deck storage, and packed in an orange-red PVC/Polyester fabric bag. Custom bag colours are available on request.
