SOLAS compliant and accepted by the UK Maritime Authority (MCA); the Fibrelight Emergency Ladder is a tested and approved life-saving device. Designed for use on all vessels such as cruise liners, merchant ships, offshore support vessels, naval ships and super yachts. 

The Fibrelight Emergency ladder is made of carbon fibre rods, which are enclosed in flanged, tubular webbing. These webbed tubes are sewn into the material at 90 degrees weaved between a double thick pocket of secondary webbing — increasing the ladder's structural integrity, whilst also fully supporting the rod with the vertical members of the ladder.

This emergency ladder has been tested under the ISO 799 strength test, where rungs have been loaded to over 900kgs and having sustaining the load for one minute without failure. The ladder's construction has also been tested and approved for thermal ageing, weathering, UV light, oil resistance and practical performance.

Important Notice - Lloyd's Registry:

The Lloyd’s Register (LR) Type Approval Certificate attached pertains to the 10m and 65m Ladders designated for use as a Controlled Means of Descent, as specified in IMO Resolution MSC.81 (70) Part 1, as amended, and IMO Resolution A.520(13), in compliance with LSA Code Regulation I/1.2. This certification aligns with the guidelines outlined in MGN 519 (M), as referenced in the MCA letter dated 13th April 2015 (copy attached), for application on UK and REG ships, large yachts, and passenger yachts. These measures ensure conformity with SOLAS provisions and the corresponding requirements of the Large Yacht Code and Passenger Yacht Code as detailed in the MCA letter. The MCA's letter does not constitute a Letter of Acceptance as referred to in paragraph 2.5 of MGN 519 (M). As per regulatory standards, surveyors of the flag Administration are mandated to issue a Letter of Acceptance before the Fibrelight Emergency Ladder can be endorsed. A template for the Letter of Acceptance has been disseminated to all REG Administrations for consistent application. The attending flag surveyor or delegated representative must thoroughly evaluate the arrangements, particularly the fitting arrangements to the ship, to ensure suitability on a case-by-case and ship-specific basis, adhering to ISO 5489:2008 standards and SAE J1960 guidelines where applicable.
